I've just completed my first novel, a historical fantasy for adults called Gingerstruck. A sequel to 'Hansel & Gretel', it takes place almost twenty years after the fairy tale ended and is set in a small village in the Black Forest, Germany, in the mid 17th century.
It tells the story of twenty-six year old Greta Rosenthal, whose peaceful life as the baker of addictively delicious gingerbread is interrupted when she meets a huge, black bear in the forest. The bear seems to be a catalyst for new dangers and strange magic. Wolves return to the forest, and children are going missing. Greta learns that the dark forces threatening her village are connected to the events of her childhood, and that she must face the secrets of her past - and of her own nature - to save everything and everyone she loves.
