Emma Woods is an Australian fiction writer. Her manuscript, Gingerstruck, is a historical fantasy novel for adults set in the Black Forest in the mid 17th century. A re-imagining of the 'Hansel & Gretel' fairy tale, it takes place twenty years after the original story's end.
The manuscript was accepted into the 2014/2015 Australian Society of Authors Emerging Writers and Illustrators Mentorship Program. Emma was mentored by best-selling Australian fantasy and historical fiction author Kate Forsyth.
Emma has featured in author Natasha Lester's series of interviews with emerging Australian writers. She has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English Literature and Creative Writing, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Studies.
She is a professionally recognised librarian and works in a busy public library, and lives in beautiful Jervis Bay, Australia, with her husband and two young sons.
