Rock art at Jervis Bay

Some interesting and creative rock -loving person  built a series of beautiful stone cairns on our local beach.

We've had some pretty big swells roll in to the bay lately, which have re-shaped our famous sandy white beaches. These stones are usually hidden completely by layers of perfect white sand. How strange, then, to see them rising in strange, dark (and rather mystical) shapes - and to see locals and tourists alike snapping photos of them, adding their own cairns to the mix, and generally loving the whole she-bang.

Of course the hobbits were keen to join the fun, and they spent a glorious hour wreaking cairn-age while our dog swam and played. Thanks, mysterious geo- artist! We love your work.
